Leadership at Knowit Ascend: Empowering Every Consultant to Reach Their Full Potential 

Some might say that being a leader is something you become at a certain position or something that defines the later part of a consultant’s career. However, at Knowit Ascend, being a leader is not a role that includes only a few, it’s in many aspects something we all are at the same time. Being a Management Consultant naturally centers around leadership our way of leading and coaching other people and companies to succeed and reach their full potential is something that drives us every day. We interviewed Caroline Thernström, head of people and organization at Knowit Ascend to explain why this way of working has been a success. 

“At Knowit Ascend we believe that everyone is a leader and have a coaching colleague that guides us towards reaching our personal goals. It means that every single one of us gets coaching, that independently of their consultant level, helps us grow as leaders. This way of working makes the organizational structure horizontal in contrast to a traditional hierarchical structure.” 

So, who is in charge?  

“I’d say that we are all in charge. We run the company together and each consultant gets to choose their way of doing it. That with the combination of a rotating role of managing partner builds a strong leadership culture throughout the whole organization.” 

 What Caroline is referring to is our internal teams and focus areas. Each consultant chooses what team to join and can change teams when the time is right. A consultant can, for example, engage in our internal recruitment team, sales activities, and/or the focus area team of Business Agile experts.  

This way, Knowit Ascend redefines the notion of leadership by empowering every consultant to reach their full potential. Through personal coaching and a horizontal organizational structure, we foster collaboration and individual growth. Our culture of curiosity and passion fuels our collective responsibility, enabling consultants to make a meaningful impact in their chosen areas of focus.
